And when it did, lag was terrible. With guild wars, it works decent, at time it lags, and the loading from place to place takes a while, but in randomly has moments where it lags, then stops. The computer im using is a HP Pavilion 743.

It ha 512MB of ram, Pentium 4 processor, windows xp, and i believe its a 120 gb hard drive. Its about 8 years old, and everything is stock on it (family comp). Im going to build my own when school starts, but i just play game to pas the summer bye. Any suggestions on how to make the games run faster. Ive talked to my parents about upgrading the ram and hard drive, but they are total noobs. I change all the settings to low, and those 2 games still run slow.

If you don't have one, you'll prob need to upgrade the RAM at least. My PC specs Core2Duo E6600 at 3.0Ghz Corsair XMS 2GB DDR2 800(oc1066) ATI Radeon2900XT(old one-geforce7800GT) Western Digitle 10,000 RPM 150GB Raptor Hard Diskx2(Raid0) Sound BlasterX-fi(onboard) It runs nearly all games at their best with respectable framerates. The only problem is Can my Pc run Crysis at its best.

Skyriderlink I would say your CPU and Ram are ok at least not sure about the card though but if all your current games a running fine on it then I would leave it until crysis comes out and use that time to save up for a top of the range card if you want it on max settings that is. For Supreme Commander. My desktop has- AMD Athlon 2800 2.80Ghz 512MB Ram 80GB HD I need to upgrade the Video Card so its pointless to put it out there.

IF I upgrade my ram to 1GB will that have a signifigant affect on my performance. What sort of video card would you suggest for my desktop, its over 4 years old now and I'm looking at something around 250. My Laptop has- AMD Athlon 2800 2.08GHZ 2GB Ram 2x100GB HD. The computer is only about 3 months old so I'm guessing that the Video card can handle the game. Dual core CPU's are basically the minimum for this game. For your desktop you would need to do a complete overhaul.
